POLITICS AS USUAL

DNC

In a 10 hour block, Hispanics get six minutes of key note speakers. What would happen if every eligible Hispanic voter decided to vote for Bernie Sanders as a write in? You know what would happen, Bernie Sanders would finish in second place with Joe Biden pulling up third place and President Trump  would get re-elected to a second term. I think the Hispanic vote is being undervalued and maybe that is what Hispanics should do to get some appreciation for our efforts.

Another thought on this matter – if I had to choose a person to be President in these harsh economic and divisive times, it would be Bill Clinton. Former President Clinton was the only President, in recent times, that actually turned a deficit into a surplus all while maintaining the respect of the allies around the world and kept the economy booming. No small feat. Whatever his blueprint was to do that, it should be looked at in the times of the pandemic. President Obama would be a close second choice but he faced immense backlash by a Repub led Senate. If he would to be the President now, I don’t think they would fight him tooth and nail like they did before.

In all seriousness, what you need right now is someone that is going to bring the country together, someone that can unite the country.

And don’t listen to me because:

I’m feeling dry, I’m feeling dry

My brain is turning to ash and that’s no lie

This arid brain of mine can’t think right

As I lose my ability to care and be alright

IN THE END ONLY TEN TO FIFTEEN PERCENT OF ELIGIBLE VOTERS WILL CHOOSE THE NEXT PRESIDENT

Suing the Federal Government

With all the hoopla about the next election, the outcome is still in the hands of a minority. Now, when I say minority, I don’t mean a Hispanic or African American , etc., I mean in the hands of the independent or non-affiliated. Some where between 42% – 45% of the nation is going to vote Repub and the same number are going to vote Demo. The remaining 10-16% percent are going to look at things differently. The people that have their minds made up would vote for their candidate even if their candidate set their house on fire and had the accelerant in their hands. They would hand their candidate more accelerant to make sure that they don’t run out. Well our house is on fire, currently, and one side is going to hand their candidate the accelerant. Luckily, the moderates, independents, non-affiliated, whatever you want to call them are pretty good fire safety specialists. They are going to vote for the candidate that they think will best suit the nation with it’s current dilemma. These people are what Malcolm Gladwell calls outliers. Non traditionalists that view things differently. The way I view things is by simply asking what is needed at the current time. My opinion is smart leadership that can get the country on the right fiscal track. The economy has tanked at my vote is going to go to the person who I think can make the tough decisions on the pandemic so they can then turn the country back on the economic rails. The person I vote for would have to have a sound plan, and a proven strategy. I look at both candidates and wonder if it isn’t too late to vote for another one, lol, it is. The way I see it is, President Trump would be the pick for the fastest recovery but the one with the most risk, as bubbles would appear because his method is high risk high reward less regulation. Candidate Biden is more the safer bet, moderate risk with moderate returns more regulation but probably a lengthier recovery time but also no bubble affect. In the end it’s what you think these times call for, high risk more reward more bubbles and patch them up later and hope those bubbles don’t burst creating and even worse problem or low risk, slower recovery no bubbles but more regulation (not necessarily bad) and longer wait but no worries of having to patch up something and no worries of the whole thing coming down. My opinion is…. my own. You make yours.

K. HARRIS IS VP PICK

Kamala Harris 1

This might have been Joe Biden’s biggest triumph and not for the reasons every other person or news media says, actually it might be the reason why they say and I could be totally wrong, but what got President Trump elected, is what makes her a great candidate.Take away that she might the smartest person in the room at any time or that she is a fierce debater or that she can lead you into verbal traps like a pro boxer leads his opponent into his power punch, she is also funny. And not scripted funny but extemporaneous funny, what, I believe, got Trump elected. VP nominee Harris matches up great against VP Pence, no slouch himself. I think I am more interested in the VP debates then I am in the Presidential ones. Humor is an incredibly underrated trait, I’m not personally funny but I’m extremely humble and good looking, hahhahaha, get it, nevermind. (please don’t take me seriously, I am in no way humble, hahahaha, see what I did there, hello, is this thing on, it’s a joke…. I should have been a psychologist, people are too serious these days)

POLITICAL DONATIONS

political donations

Part of the problem with politics is special interest money, which in my opinion are not very special. There is nothing in the constitution that allows or forbids lobbying but there is something definitely wrong with the whole situation. If the Supreme court would rule that it is illegal to contribute to just one party, therefore making special interest illegal, and instead deemed that all political contributions go to all legitimate political parties, parties that can garner more that 10 million signatures country wide, by placing all political contributions in a pot and then spreading them equally, then the whole process would run a whole lot better. This would eliminate special interest and the only interest would be the people’s. But, let’s be real, you can’t stop the money train, which is the biggest problem with the system. The Repubs and the Demos already have that many registered voters, I don’t think any other party comes close to that many supporters.

GOD BLESSED US WITH YOUR PRESENCE

john lewis

There are few people that you admire in this world so much because of what they stand for that if you share a picture with them, you feel almost blessed to be in the same frame as them. MLK, Mother Teresa, Ghandi. John Lewis was one of these people. That’s saying something given that the person he is sharing the picture with  is the first African American President of these United States. Rest in Peace and may God bless your soul.

DEMO DEBATE 02/19/2020

Elizabeth Warren

The debate was 2 hours but it felt like it was only 30 minutes. After the opening bell, I paused it, got my traditional boxing snacks, and went back to watching it. It was a battle royale. I heard some people on stage say that after this debate that the Demos wouldn’t be voting for any of them but I disagree. I think this is the opening salvo to what the general election is going to be like and to my surprise, the person that I thought would most likely wither in these types of harsh, in your face, toe to toe, mano a mano slug debates was the one that came out the clear victor. Sen. Warren was straight out of the ‘hood, you know the Senate ‘hood, but nevertheless, went straight gangster (more Ma Barker less Rick Ross) on her opponents and they seemed shell shocked. It was brutal. Don’t listen to anyone, while I expect this not be the norm, it’s good practice to what you will face with your opponent. So if you got rattled and couldn’t take the heat, as the old saying goes, it’s time to get out of the kitchen. The Demos actually showed something in this debate, more to the point, Elizabeth Warren showed something, her spine is made of that same stuff they build the Space shuttle with and the Demos needed to show that, they needed to show they have uumph or is it oomph, good debate. Good luck on Super Tuesday to all the candidates.

This type of debate only worked because it was unusual. If this becomes the norm, people would get tired of it quickly.

IT’S THE END OF AN ERA (A SHORT ERA)

yang

As Andrew Yang closes out his bid for the Presidency, he will be sorely missed. As one of the few voices that had true insight and didn’t just blame his opponent for everything, Andrew showed something that is completely rare in the days of high tech gadgetry, common sense. It’s funny that common sense is as rare these days as a solar eclipse. Mr. Yang should not put his head down. He outlasted several highly regarded contenders, all by seeing the problem for what it is and finding practical solutions. If I were the top three candidates, I would be seeking Mr. Yang’s endorsement because, even though he didn’t get the nod, he has shown that he has the right answers. And if I were Mr. Yang, I wouldn’t just give his endorsement to just anyone but the person he truly feels will make the best candidate. A lot of people will be watching to see who he chooses.

DEMO DEBATE 02/07/2020

demo debate 02 07 2020

This was a really good debate. The candidates were animated but controlled. There is no easy path forward for these candidates but they certainly made a good case for themselves. If I had to describe the candidates with one word it would be:

Yang – Innovative

Buttigieg – Pragmatic

Sanders – Revolutionary

Biden – Stalwart

Warren – Energetic

Klobuchar – Tenacious

Steyer – Virtuous

It will be up to the voter to decide which one is a leader. A leader, to me, is not the person that has all the answers, I expect that they will have some, but the person that recognizes the right answer when it is presented to them and just as important, can recognize the wrong answer and be able to change course when necessary.

They were pretty emphatic in pointing out that judgement was the key, I believe that to be right. In any occupation where decision making is the priority, judgment, good judgement, is the key.

I also believe that any problem can be fixed through education. You fix our educational system, pay teachers a higher wage and, at the same time, hold them to higher standard, you can fix everything from racism to poverty. The reason why inner cities face such high rates of discrimination in the justice system is because the education system in these areas are overwhelmed. If my old stomping grounds, as they say, Paterson, NJ, had schools that were rated a 10 instead of a 1 in some cases, you would see an influx of wealth in that city because people want to migrate to where they can offer their child a better education. You fix the school system in inner cities you fix a majority of the social ills. That means more teachers, better paid teachers, more student teachers, better curriculum, more diversity, less worrying about my Hispanic child being left behind and passing him out of pity and more holding him to a standard that would allow him to thrive in the real world both educationally and morally. Teach a philosophy, not necessarily a religion, that’s up to the parents, but a philosophy that demonstrates that hard work and making the right decisions and doing the right thing is what makes us good people. I personally am a fan of Immanuel Kant, but there are many modern philosophers that can lead you down the path of wisdom. You are never too young, or old  for that matter, to learn to  do the right thing and make the right decisions.

It has always been my belief that you put the best two candidates forward from each party and the country can only benefit us a whole. I see 7 good candidates on this stage, I have my opinion, and I think it was demonstrated, as to who is the candidate who can bring us all together. That candidate might or might not have been on the stage, that’s my personal decision and that’s the way I’ll vote.

An example of some past leaders that represented the values and leadership skills that I held to be dear to me are Eisenhower, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Obama. They all had something in common, they united the country.

Iowa Dems release ‘100 percent’ of caucus vote totals showing Buttigieg ahead, amid calls for recanvass, FOX NEWS

iowa cuacus

Iowa caucus made simple.

Lol… Deja vu …. can anyone say repeat

Funny, Demos make ballots into linear accelerator relativity and wonder why they can’t get the votes in on time

Repubs show a pic and say push here.

Just give the State to Pete, he earned it. I already have a headache listening to this nonsense. You can’t run a ballot box and you want to run a country, is what people are thinking.

SOTU

LOL…. You have to hand it to both sides. The President went sans handshake (with the coronavirus out there, I’m sure it was just precautionary) and the Speaker went paper shredder (the Speaker is all about recycling). It’s good to see that they were being both medically and environmentally conscientious or is it contentious. I get those two mixed up.
