fury wilder 2

It was the boxing bully being bullied by the boxing savant. Wilder, the most feared man in boxing, was put on his back foot by the white Ali. That is the synopsis or the story line in a nutshell. A closer in depth look would paint a different picture. Fury was, I wouldn’t say scared, but aware of Wilder’s power, having faced him prior. Wilder, who seemed off, wasn’t his usual self, it almost seemed like he wasn’t sure of his game plan. When the opening bell rang, Fury charged like a bull seeing red and Wilder played the part of a novice matador, not moving and almost asking himself is Fury going to stop or is he going to run me over. You can tell that Fury wanted to make a statement, which was I’m not scared of you. You could also see that Fury wanted to play the inside game, where Wilder couldn’t extend that right arm, to limit Wilder’s max effectiveness. Fury wanted to keep the shots short and quick and then hold or get close. Well, it worked like a charm. Wilder did land some rights, but for some reason, either because Fury was keeping that left shoulder up or because he had to punch up and over that shoulder, they weren’t landing with the same velocity as with his other opponents. By the fourth round, Wilder suffering, what looked to be a punctured ear drum, seemed to be on shaky legs and chose to be on the ropes more, allowing the Gypsy King to take advantage of his own quick herky jerky movements and feints to create opening and land flush shots. At times both fighters were throwing awkward shots with what seemed closed eyes hoping to land, but when you fight people that size, most people close their eyes while reciting the hail Mary. In the end it was Tyson Fury that prevailed and reigned victor. Oddly, probably the last outcome anyone would have bet on. It was 50/50 with a Wilder KO or a Fury decision victory, then another draw, then a Fury KO. No offense to the UK killer, but with someone like Wilder in front of you, only a crazy Gypsy King would go on the attack like that. Congrats to Fury, a well deserved win. As for Wilder, I always said, the best always have one loss on their record, that shows he was tested. What will make him one of the best now is to take some time and reflect on what went wrong, come back smarter, don’t know if he could get any stronger, that would be insane power, and regain his belt and at the same time cement his legacy. He can do it.

I did notice, that Wilder’s left arm was a little injured prior to the fight. Swelling generally means an injury, even though he didn’t say it, it was noticeable. Maybe he injured that thumb? Or was that the other fight? Nevertheless, Wilder was not 100% and for a Tyson Fury you have to be. Last thing, not one single ladies boxing match, what’s up with that? They have to eat as well. Kinda tired of the ladies being treated as second class citizens in this sport. I’m sure one could have been made.

DEMO DEBATE 02/19/2020

Elizabeth Warren

The debate was 2 hours but it felt like it was only 30 minutes. After the opening bell, I paused it, got my traditional boxing snacks, and went back to watching it. It was a battle royale. I heard some people on stage say that after this debate that the Demos wouldn’t be voting for any of them but I disagree. I think this is the opening salvo to what the general election is going to be like and to my surprise, the person that I thought would most likely wither in these types of harsh, in your face, toe to toe, mano a mano slug debates was the one that came out the clear victor. Sen. Warren was straight out of the ‘hood, you know the Senate ‘hood, but nevertheless, went straight gangster (more Ma Barker less Rick Ross) on her opponents and they seemed shell shocked. It was brutal. Don’t listen to anyone, while I expect this not be the norm, it’s good practice to what you will face with your opponent. So if you got rattled and couldn’t take the heat, as the old saying goes, it’s time to get out of the kitchen. The Demos actually showed something in this debate, more to the point, Elizabeth Warren showed something, her spine is made of that same stuff they build the Space shuttle with and the Demos needed to show that, they needed to show they have uumph or is it oomph, good debate. Good luck on Super Tuesday to all the candidates.

This type of debate only worked because it was unusual. If this becomes the norm, people would get tired of it quickly.

census letter

I received one of these fake census letters. I thought it was real and it didn’t mention any political messages that I recall. The problem with a fake census letter is that you don’t know who sent it and for it to state that it was from the Department of Commerce, it would be impossible for it to have a political message as it would violate the Hatch Act, a violation of federal law that would put someone in jail. My guess is that ICE mailed these letters in a scam to try and find illegal citizens. It wouldn’t be the first time that ICE would set up a sting to try and get information about citizens. I don’t know who got the letter but I’m Hispanic and it might be interesting to find out who else received the letter.

Trump Administration Launches ICE Crackdown In NJ, Elsewhere

In shared news:

“Today’s filed lawsuit presents important legal issues concerning whether the directive’s prohibitions and restrictions on information sharing and basic cooperation with federal officials violate the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution,” Carpenito said.

I don’t know how it is now but it used to be that ICE detainers or ICE would be informed only if an illegal immigrant committed a felony or serious misdemeanor. In Arizona, police were detaining people if they thought they were illegal during traffic stops, which we all know, the light was yellow, not red. So the question is, does it violate the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution if local law enforcement does not inform ICE when dealing with immigrants? The law also clearly states that the only person that can determine citizenship is an Immigration Agent. That being said, why would local law enforcement try to determine someone’s residency requirements during anything that would not put them away for more than a year? The law is funny and trying to interpret the law, which seems to shift depending who is arguing it, can be tricky. If the law clearly dictates that local Law Enforcement can not determine citizenship and that is only left to immigration agents, then isn’t New Jersey following the law? The law also states that, if a person commits a felony, than that person’s residency needs to be established, for purposes of trial, that’s when Immigration Agents now can file that detainer. So anything short of serious misdemeanor, like domestic violence, there should be no need for ICE to be involved. That’s just my opinion. That in itself is troublesome because what will happen is that ladies or men are going to get hit and they are not going to report it because of fear of deportation. So, I believe the standard should be a felony, so women or men can report abusive spouses.

I respect all Hispanic mothers because I have one and I love her and so does my son but also because that chancla would go Matrix and bend corners and smack me upside the head when I didn’t. Feliz Cumpleanos mama…. Don’t forget to kiss your mom on her birthday to show her how much you respect women.

sanctuary cities

Across the U.S. there are sanctuary cities that protect illegal immigrants, mostly Hispanics from abusive immigration laws. The problem with these sanctuary cities is that they don’t enforce the law, any of them. The likelihood of one of these immigrants becoming a victim of  a serious crime are higher, as are the chances that the crime will not be investigated. We give into these sanctuary cities only to be abused by other methods. It’s a double edged sword of getting cheap labor for the luxury of avoiding deportation and not being able to take advantage of the amenities that this country has to offer. Illegal immigrants are most likely to get sexually assaulted, become victims of violent crimes and have no outlet providing them protection due to the fact that people view them as non-tax payers that aren’t afforded these protections due to their status. What you have is these people that tell you can stay but only if you do what I say. So I don’t know if I would call them sanctuary cities as much as I would call them cattle farms.

If the State were to charge them State tax and allow them to have all the amenities that they give their regular citizens, like New York presently is by allowing them to get driver’s licenses, then you might have a recipe for something that could work. Trust me when I say that these people would be the most law abiding citizens there are.

This blog is not an opinion. This comes from personal experience of being a Hispanic immigrant and former LEO and having a Hispanic immigrant family that had problems with the immigration process, won’t go any further.

sodom and gomorrah
Sodom and Gomorrah

I find it funny how people interpret things. If there is one truth is that evil knows the bible as good as anyone and will twist its teaching for its own perverse intention. For ages people have depicted Sodom and Gomorrah as retribution for homosexuality. That is a twist on what the bible truly intended. Sodom and Gomorrah was actually depicting the dangers of being unfaithful and promiscuity as people, hetero and homo, were killed in that parable. I don’t care what your sexuality is, I just care that you are a good person and being faithful to your loved one is a sign of good moral character. God doesn’t teach you to hate because you don’t like the same things, he teaches you understanding and compassion. At the same time we understand that a person that cannot remain faithful to the person they love will not remain faithful to anyone and only cares about themselves. So as for any comments on Mr. Buttigieg’s personal life, the only question should be, are you faithful to your husband? The rest is none of our business. If there is a God, he will judge your choices and if there isn’t, then what the hell are you complaining about. Personally, I believe in God and I don’t think he gives a damn about whether you are Homosexual or Heterosexual, only that you are good person.

garcia linares

Great night of fighting on DAZN as Jorge Linares dispatched of his opponent Morales, a durable fighter that has never been KO’ed until now, with a short right hand, the signature punch of Linares. Linares did not come away unscathed as he suffered some cuts.

Ryan Garcia, the anglo first name and Hispanic surname phenom of the Golden Boy stables, was poised and showed why, even though he doesn’t hold a major belt……yet… he is a force to be reckoned with. At 21 and to have that kind of timing and power in his left hook is pretty amazing. Timing comes with confidence and you can see that Ryan has that in abundance. Garcia dispatched his opponent in devastating fashion, a very appropriate phrase, given that Fonseca seemed to be unconscious prior to hitting the canvas.

The next fight for these talented fighters is against each other. While the advantage is seemingly for Garcia, Linares is fighting for relevance so he will definitely come with everything. I saw Devin Haney in the ring requesting to be next. Mr. Haney, who throws his power right by reaching behind his right ear, is a perfect candidate for Garcia. His wins over Garcia in the amateurs don’t translate to the pros where the gloves are way lighter and you aren’t wearing head gear. Haney’s flaws are perfect for Garcia to exploit. I say to him, Mr. Haney, watch what you ask for, you might just get it.

stop and frisk

I used to do stop and frisk. I used to stop the Bank of America guys and take their pens so they couldn’t sign the reverse mortgage policies. You should have seen them cry. I used to yell at them “What shitty policies that ruin peoples lives are you going to sign with this pen”. And they would cry and say I don’t know how that got there, it isn’t mine. The problem is that you don’t need a background check to buy a pen.

Mont Blanc, destroyed more lives than any war. And for the record, I don’t think Bloomberg is a racist. I think he took the recommendations that were given without fully exploring the outcome or what it entailed and once he was in, he felt that he had to protect those recommendations.

As Andrew Yang closes out his bid for the Presidency, he will be sorely missed. As one of the few voices that had true insight and didn’t just blame his opponent for everything, Andrew showed something that is completely rare in the days of high tech gadgetry, common sense. It’s funny that common sense is as rare these days as a solar eclipse. Mr. Yang should not put his head down. He outlasted several highly regarded contenders, all by seeing the problem for what it is and finding practical solutions. If I were the top three candidates, I would be seeking Mr. Yang’s endorsement because, even though he didn’t get the nod, he has shown that he has the right answers. And if I were Mr. Yang, I wouldn’t just give his endorsement to just anyone but the person he truly feels will make the best candidate. A lot of people will be watching to see who he chooses.
