DACA. Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or Delayed Approach Causing Animosity?

DACA dreamer

I think this conversation needs to be settled. This is why politics has so many people turned off and against each other. In one corner you have politicians that want to exploit an issue that puts people’s life at risk and in the other you have people, to no fault of their own, in a perilous position of being deported to a country that they don’t know, haven’t seen, maybe ever, and wouldn’t have the first clue what to do if they have to leave. It almost seems like a reality show. Survivor. I’m confident that the right thing will happen. After all the stance taking and chest puffing, I am confident, admittedly not as much as I used to be, that the right thing will be done and these individuals that are upstanding young soon to be citizens will get their day and be allowed a path to citizenship. These are hard times for them and I have seen this first hand, heard stories straight out of their mouths and witnessed some atrocities. I’m going to try and walk you through some events these people faced.

Prior to my job as an unrenowned blog splatterer, I used to work for the federal government. One of my jobs was as a Border Patrol Agent. The Border Patrol’s (BP), now known as U.S. Customs and Border Protection, duties were simply to affect arrests on anyone trying to circumvent customs and/or gaining entry into the United States illegally. Border Patrol agentI worked the southern border where California meets with Tijuana, Mexico and I did my job well, I like to think. I caught people from all nationalities like Mexican, Brazilian, Chinese, Cuban, El Salvador, Guatemala, Venezuela, and a host of other countries. I didn’t particularly love my job but I didn’t hate it either. Regardless of all the hoopla, the position is necessary and the people that work for the BP are dedicated good people that put their lives on the line for the security of our country. They work some of the most perilous terrains and remote areas and try to deter the influx of illegal drugs as well as illegal entry. In my four years their I have run into some very good people, not my fellow ex- Agents but people crossing into the U.S..

A story I would like to share happened on the Tijuana Canal where the U.S. border meets the Mexican border. On this particular night I was working Whiskey 3 (W3), a hard X. This means that I was positioned at this location and was not to move, to act as a deterrence from people crossing. I hear a banging on the gate that leads into the canal and people yelling in Spanish. I go over to the gate and their were several people talking to me in Spanish saying that they were being robbed. I told them to back up and head over to the south side and I’ll go check it out. As I opened the gate and stepped into the canal, I asked W4 to keep an eye out on me as I entered the canal, you never know. As I stepped closer to the border, a yellow line that runs north to south, to peak around the fence, I kept telling this group of 5 to keep backing up to the south side, pointing my flashlight at their faces and hands to make sure they weren’t armed. They had a terrified look on their faces, they didn’t want to go. They wanted to stay on the north side. As I approached I kept telling them to back up, “Muevance para atras”, (use google translate), Still terrified, they were begging me to help. I get to where the yellow line separates the two countries and look around the corner and see a big man grabbing another man by the shirt, as he laid on the ground pointing a gun, an old .38 revolver, at him. The man on the ground InkedInkedTJ Canal W 3_LIhad one hand on the ground and the other shielding his face. The big man yelling at him to give him all his money. The actions I took right after that lasted about ten seconds. I pull my Beretta from my holster, tell the people to cross over to the north side and stay out of the way, and to get against the fence, radioed W4 and told him to make sure they didn’t make a break to the north side and radioed dispatch to inform of the situation. They said they would contact the PD on the south side, I told them don’t bother, he’s a Federale, Mexican police officer. I shine my light on him and yelled “Que Haces”. My weapon is now behind my right quad and my flashlight is trained on the Federales face. He looks at me and uses  couple of choice words. My dispatch informs that I am not, for any reason, to cross the border, that I must remain on the north side. I don’t respond, just kept my focus on the Federale and his gun. If he had pointed that weapon at me, I would have been able to defend myself, I was hoping that it wouldn’t come to that. By the Federales slurred speech and wobbling stance, I was guessing he had a little too many Tequilas. The confrontation, that seemed like a lifetime, lasted all of 30 seconds. He kept telling me that it wasn’t any of my business, mixed with some language that his mother would wash his mouth out with soap with. I yelled something, don’t even remember what language it was, could have been Spanish, could have been English, could have been Swahili by the confused look on his face. He finally looks down at the man on the ground, back at me, then pushes the man down with some force and turns, holsters his weapon and leaves. I relayed to my dispatch that incident ws over and that the assailant had left. I was at the right place at the right time, could have easily been the wrong place at the wrong time if Senor Tequila felt like becoming the Mexican Wyatt Earp. The now illegal entrants, 20 feet into the north side, thanked me. I stayed there talking to them for a while. They told me that they had been there for about two weeks and that they have been robbed prior, it wasn’t the first time. They told me about their families in their country and how they left their loved ones because there was no work where they lived. A mixed gang of men and 1 woman. They were risking their lives because they needed to feed their children. I asked him how much did the guy take and he just got the one persons cash. The other ones left as soon as he made his presence known with the .38. I gave them my left over food, half a club sandwich from Denny’s and  fries and told them if he returns to come back to the gate and that I would bring them north until he left. You want to hear another. This one will make you scratch your head.

I was on the swing shift, working overtime on Rover patrol, when scope, an agent working heat sensing cameras, calls out a group of 4 crossing. I get to the location where they were spotted and quickly see them low crawling. When they spot me they get up and run. They run through a group of bushes. Two feet on the other side of these pushes was a Cholla Cactus, I’m guessing. It was the type of cactus that grows in small pieces and when you run into them, parts of them come off. The reason I know that, is because I ran right deadsmack into them. I can’t express how much that hurt and how dumb I felt. It hurt because I was running at full speed, try it, run full speed into a cactus. I felt dumb because, while I looked like a linebacker arresting this cactus for illegal growing, the small group of 4 managed to bank right and avoid the cactus. At this point I yelled out, like a man that ran into a cactus full speed. The group stopped, looked back and came to help me. They told me to stand still. They grabbed my pants and pulled it off my leg, removing the cactus from my leg. They were clear. They had open space and a direct route down the mountain into Imperial Beach. They didn’t do it. They helped me instead. They pulled that cactus off of me like people that had done this on prior occasions. What did I do to thank them. I deported them. Actually, I thanked them for their kindness, shook their hand and them told them that I couldn’t let them go. to their credit, they completely understood. I didn’t take them in and fingerprint them, take their picture and get their details for the system, no, but I told them that right now, straight down the path they were taking, there were already two other agents waiting for them. Redundancy. They looked down and just smiled. I pulled my Bronco up to the fence and told them, hop back over and that where they tried to cross was full of security cameras and sensors. That I wished I could help but……I said, I can’t tell you that about 500 feet west there was a sensor that wasn’t working correctly and that crossing at night was giving us problems. I can’t tell you that. I can’t tell you that it will be fixed by tomorrow morning, nope, I would get in trouble. They climbed on the hood of my truck and hopped over. That was the last time I ever seen them. Don’t know if they are part of DACA, I hope so.

This portrayal of illegal people, (not aliens, martians are aliens, they are people), as some kind of monsters that are here to harm us are completely false, for the most part. Don’tDACA rules mix them up as all being drug runners or mules. They’re not, while admittedly some are, but very few. Most are looking to support their families, exactly what all of us would do if we were in their position. I’m not lobbying for open borders, I don’t think it’s wise to have open borders but I am urging common sense. The DACA program is meant for people that have been here for a while and we didn’t even know they were among us. We didn’t know because they have caused no trouble, have not been arrested, work (they can’t be on any social program) and are productive. These people basically assimilated in the best possible way. The criteria they face forces them to do that.

My blame for the stall of this program is going to be tough to hear. I could be mixed up but it seems that the Democratic criticisms on President Trump has left him unwilling to approach the subject at this time. I’m going to try and be as diplomatic as possible about this situation and refuse to take sides. On one hand you have the President who knows that this is a tool to mend bridges with the left but isn’t quite “feeling the love” so he is deciding to hold off and the other you have the Democratic Caucus who feels that this shouldn’t be a political issue but a humanitarian one and should be passed immediately, without “giving the love”. In the middle you have innocent people, innocent in that they were forced to migrate as children, that are hoping the differences can be resolved. For the President, having people, that already here and assimilated, working and paying taxes is the easiest solution to counting them as basically visas delivered through the lottery. He can count them to the quota that the government gives out each year and, bonus, they are proven good people that are already paying taxes. From a business point of view, and the President is a businessman, not so much a politician but that’s the platform he ran on, that is a huge win. For the left, if they can find a way to reconcile their differences somehow, they get their legislative win and more importantly they helped those people that they were trying to help. It really is a DACA Trumpwin-win situation if both sides can find something positive to say about each other. Everyone in government feels like this the right thing to do. Please don’t let petty differences get in the way of what can be a monumental moment of solidarity. We are the world’s leaders in front of the cameras, meaning everyone watches our every step. Let us show them what we are capable of.

You want to hear something ironic, I ended leaving the BP into another position within the government, met a wonderful woman who happened to be illegal, married her, had a child and had to leave my job because I lied about where I met her. True story. The whole thing, not just the ending.

This story, while written with good intentions, is poorly written and reads a little rough. Doesn’t really captivate the reader the way I wanted to, I got bored trying to edit it. To my credit though, I did manage to introduce the word hoopla into the story. There’s that, I guess.

What killed America? Politics.

politics

Why are we so captivated with politics that it actually turns people against each other? The new civil war in America, and around the world, has nothing to do with Marvel super heroes, it has to do with American politics. Me, for one, would rather enjoy my life dong anything else other than thinking about politics. There are so many beautiful places to visit, sporting events to go to, concerts I would love to attend (Earth, Wind and Fire still my favorite concert I have been to even though Lenny Kravitz was pretty good as well but that could have been because of the contact high I enjoyed while I was there), bars and restaurants to enjoy, books to read, naps to take, parties to get drunk at and ruin (yeah, I was that guy once, just once though) to think about what politics the guy or girl next to me is supporting. The constant bombardment of crazy political analyzation in every possible media and social outlet is just over the top. It feels like sometimes it’s being forced on me with every news show, talk show, magazine, newspaper and whisper that goes on. Is there anything else going on in the world? Seriously, I have no idea, because politics is on everything.

I have no problem telling people how I voted. I voted Bernie Sanders. He didn’t make thecoin toss cut so I tossed a coin because I didn’t see any difference between the candidates that were left. The coin said Hillary, how can a coin toss be wrong so I voted Hillary. The coin toss was wrong. That coin is now enjoying its life in some street meter. Donald Trump won and you know what, I hope he’s the best President this country has ever seen, why would I want anything else. Just because he wasn’t my first choice, I should now make a voodoo doll of him and say tweet all the time, somebody must have done that. I hope he leads us to the best economical, global, health and ideological success that this country has ever seen. Those might not be the right terminology for what I’m trying to express but I think you get the point. I hope he is so successful that he gains the respect and admiration of the U.S. public and wins with a wide margin, not because he is a Republican, but because he did such a great job that you just can’t ignore it and would have to vote for the guy because we were so prosperous. And I hope whoever replaces President Trump in 2020 or 2024 is even better and so on. Now that’s a trend I would love to see. Every President is better than the next. What is the likelihood of that happening, I have better chance of hitting the lottery, dating J Lo, catching a Leprechaun and holding my breath and floating to the moon. Not because it isn’t possible to create that trend, (great presidents not the lottery… J Lo…. leprechaun… moon thing, even though we can try both) people just don’t want it to happen. They want someone to hate for something.

Take President Obama’s presidency for instance. When he was elected, Congress immediately came out and said we are not working with this guy. OK, well that doesn’t affect you as much as it affects the country. Why not? Now President Trump faced immediate backlash before even passing one piece of legislation. Chants of recount and fixed were ringing out quicker than Usain Bolt’s finish in the Olympics. While the two President’s handled their criticism in different ways, they were both criticized immediately. No feeling in process, no wait and see how he does, just immediate opposition. Then you have the American public mimicking these actions on one another and the politicians can’t comprehend where all the bad blood and violence is coming from. They’re watching CSPAN and losing their minds and beating and killing each other. Islamaphobia, racism, homophobia, heterophobia (that’s a new one to me but it exists), people losing their wig and shooting each other and running each other over, sexism and a crap load of other phobias, isms and crazy stuff. It would be amiss of me to blame politics or politicians for all these things but the reality is that if our leaders can’t get along, publicly, why do they expect us to be any different. I would rather that they discuss politics in private, try their best to come to a consensus on all matters and avoid going to the public unless it’s absolutely necessary. I understand the urge to tell the public but I elected you to handle it. Honestly, the less I know the better. I’m in overload. When a consensus can’t be reached, then let the masses know. We’ll picket, march, do sit-downs, sit-ups, cart wheels and cry, if necessary but if I’m doing that on a constant basis, then what affect will it really have. Work together, find common goals, unite the country for goodness sakes and every once in a while, pat the guy on the other side of the aisle on the back for their open mindness. Plus, it isn’t like you tell me the good stuff like the NSA tracking or how David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear, you just tell me that the President said a bad word, (not minimizing the situation if he actually was referring to a group of people, I just don’t know how much of that was politics and how much of it is real, people sometimes tend to exaggerate or deliberately emphasize the negative if it suits their need, I know this from personal experience), or that people hate each other on twitter. I dare a politician from the opposite side to give a compliment to an opposing member for a good piece of legislation on national TV. Fuck, the world might just blow up. Not just once, every time you get to the dais say I would like to thank this colleague, on the opposing political party, for his work on this project.  Nah, I’m on the look out for that leprechaun. There’s a way better chance.

This is all to easy for me to say, I write a blog that no one reads, so I have the luxury of criticizing. I wouldn’t want to do their jobs. I know it’s extremely difficult at times. Sen. Flake of Arizona is one of the latest victims of a seemingly dysfunctional government by how it appears in the media. He seems like a liberal conservative and took the hit. Sen. Flake decided to bow out because everyone wants to be so extreme or that’s the way it looked like to me in all these media outlets. When the mayor of London says he doesn’t want President Trump to appear and then a mob of people try to affect a civil arrest, the world has gone crazy and our dysfunctionalness, (there’s a red line under that word so I’m guessing I just made up that word) has spread around the world.

It’s important to note that I don’t agree with every decision the current President has made nor the previous President for that matter. If anyone reads this blog they’ll only see what they want. Some will say he is a Trump supporter while some will say he hates Trump. Both are false and part of your dysfunctional method of interpreting things. I’ll make my decision in November 2020. Both parties have some constructive ideas on how to repair things, people just have to listen and give the idea some honest looking over. Don’t just dismiss it because he isn’t in your party or you didn’t think of it. To this day, the best thing I ever heard from a President is still from former President Bill Clinton when he approached the idea of limiting welfare and making sure that people that received welfare could also go to school so they could learn a trade or a profession and wouldn’t be demoralized or become complacent in their own abilities to achieve greater things. Clinton’s response when they said that is was John Engler’s idea, Republican Governor of Michigan, was that he didn’t base good ideas on political parties, just on the merit of the  idea itself. He didn’t care where it came from, only that it worked for the betterment of the country.

I’m a fan of the conservative Liberals and liberal Conservatives. People that I think tend to lean towards the middle and have an open mind on subjects and only care on the functionality of the law that is being passed, like Bill Clinton, Dwight Eisenhower and Abraham Lincoln. These Presidents are also known as moderates. You don’t have to believe me now but George W. Bush will fall in that list as well. Funny how people were on his case for being ultra-conservative but, like I stated in previous posts, he passed some very moderate laws. Maybe because we bitched so much, but not every second………….huh, something to think about I guess.

Legalizing Steroids

SteoidsThere has been a lot of talk about legalizing marijuana in the past few days. Talks of who supports the laws and who opposes them. News of people taking a stand and how that would hurt their electability in public office. Stats on how much revenue the sale of the narcotic would bring and how many people would be employed by this industry, if only the powers to be would let it thrive. But that’s it, it’s the revenue that really matters. Money is an alluring Muse that transcends all boundaries. It doesn’t matter your gender, race, sexual preference, age or disability, this allure does not discriminate. It makes people do things that they wouldn’t dream of doing otherwise. There’s a show based on that premise, Fear Factor, wait… there’s another one, The Amazing Race,… still some more Bachelor, Big Brother, Survivor…. just plug in any reality show name there and you get the picture. All these people are doing crazy, outlandish things for money. the end result is that you want the prize that lays at the end of that neurotic syndication and the more neurotic you are, the better chance of you winning that prize. Money. What do they say about money…. “it takes money to make money”… no that’s not it, “a fool and his money are soon departed”..true but not the one I was looking for…..got it…”Money is the root of all evil”, it’s actually “The love of money is the root of all evil”. When all you can say about a product is that it will make you money, then you are lost. you are no good for a civil society that should cherish other virtues over money. If you want to tout a product that is currently illegal to buy over the counter and only used for medicinal purposes, then tell me what good it’s going to do. How will this product improve life? How will it help? In the curious case of marijuana legalization, there really isn’t a way to do that. There is one product that you can legalize, make a crap load of revenue on and it actually helps people, with way less negative side effects than marijuana. It’s testosterone and human growth hormones.

The fact about getting old is that no one really wants to. We all want to stay young and in shape and live a productive life. Love our significant others forever, I’m talking about libido ofcourse, and feel as young as possible. Aging is difficult for some and easier for others. It all depends on your past habits of eating right and exercising. There’s an old saying in boxing, the only true undefeated fighter in boxing is father time. We all get to that point where we aren’t the person we used to be, but how about if we can slow down the aging process. Would you be interested?

Marciano v Louis

So, which person would you rather be, the one getting knocked out or the person doing the knocking out, figuratively, not literally.

Facts on anti-aging hormones differ depending on who you talk to. Some doctors will tell you that using these products will only lead to destruction of your regular hormonal balance and will eventually create more harm than good while other say that, if used properly and not abused, then the side effects are minimal and the positive results far outweigh any negative result. Let’s be real for a second. I want you to choose, in my right hand I have a marijuana cigarette, it will get you high, you will laugh a lot, you will eat a lot, you will get nothing done, you will eat again, you will beef up… not in the right way because potato chip are all carbs and you will eventually pass out. In my left hand, I have a bottle of anti-aging product, you will feel great, you will go for a run, you will be productive, you will get things done, you will have energy to play with your kids, you will socialize, you will go for another run and then you will pass out, from exhaustion because you did so many things. Which would you rather have?

Let us talk about the revenue. the big hype in legalizing marijuana is the revenue it will bring. Do Anti-aging products bring in just as much? Anti-aging products are said to bring 191.7 billion dollars globally. What!?!?!? And that’s just anti-wrinkle cream and botox and things of that nature. What do you think will happen when you give them something they can actually use in their bodies to help things like osteoporosis, which is a by-product of the slowly withering testosterone in both men and women. So there you go, not only did I just give you a better selling item, I linked it to a positive side effect that it will actually provide. It helps other diseases as well like obesity, depression, joint pain and cardio vascular disease as testostserone is linked to the build up of fatty plaque in your circulatory system. Keep in mind that I’m talking about reasonable usage not Schwarzenegger levels.

Moderation is key, in both men and women. You would have to get your blood levels checked yearly and not exceed the recommended amounts for your sex.

The problem in anti-aging, as in marijuana, is the tendency to abuse the product. This where you would have to make sure that you regulate the product by pre packaging it in a ready to go hypodermic and allow only one per customer. If not, well then you can look like this.

maybe a smidge too much

The goal is to be fit and happy, not bench press a car or in the case of the person below, to become that big where going to the bathroom might prove difficult.

Could be that he abused the product a little

Right now, there is no movement to legalize these hormones. There should be, if used properly, it could create a better way of living.  Mind you. I’m blogging, I’m not a doctor but I researched these facts from credible sources like CDC website and webmd that is ran by the mayo clinic, not steroid sites. Those sites also say that prolonged use of these products will eventually lead to a number of difficulties. This is why it’s important to educate yourself on how they work and realize that you should take time off from using them to give your body a rest. But this is true for all drugs, including marijuana. Eventually using these products will shorten your life span. Not using them will probably allow you to live 10 years longer. So, if your were planning on doing a ton of things between the ages of 82 to 92, then you should probably not use these items. If you weren’t, then maybe it’s the right product for you. Mind you, I’m only putting this out as an alternative to legalizing marijuana.

Why Being Broke is Better. Put Down The Dubious Dooby Law!

Demonstrators smoke a giant joint of cannabis during a pro-marijuana legalization march in Brasilia

This is not going to be a popular article. People might think that I’m anti-weed, I’m not. I’m just anti my son smoking it. Everyone else has to make their own decision on the matter. There are reasons why I’m against legalizing Mexican Dirt Weed and they have nothing to do with bible thumping or me being some kind of overly judicious nut job that that thinks you have to walk a straight line. My reasons are purely related to climate change, sort of, ok, they’re not, but they have the same concept in mind. It’s the long game.

In climate change advocates, which I’m one of, and as you can see in this article, it is only getting worse, climate change (link brings you to a weather channel story) is not something you can stop in one day. It requires that you think about the long game. It requires that you think into the future and see the disasters that lay ahead for our children and grandchildren. Well, making Mary Jane legal needs those same considerations.

Let me start pre-pakaloco era. Remember when cigarettes came out. All the cool people were doing it and if you weren’t smoking then you just weren’t cool. You guys might know some of these people. I think one is a former President. I’m a Mets fan, so I don’t know if that’s Babe Ruth or Joe Dimaggio, but just remember that the Yankees promote smoking, well used to, and go visit Citi Field instead.

To no fault of their own, these people endorsed the use of cigarettes. Why wouldn’t they. The doctors all said that there was no harm from smoking and that it was safe for all ages, maybe they didn’t say all ages, but you get the point. What the doctor didn’t tell us is that he has a brand new yacht that is in the harbor by his, (I don’t say her not because women couldn’t be doctors, I just think they were too smart to promote cigarettes), brand new beach house in Bermuda and it is paid by the cigarette manufacturers. We all now know how that little tidbit of research ended up. Just in case I’ll post some of those tidbits. This is what cigarettes do according to the CDC. Just click on the link, don’t forget to come back.

Smoking is the leading cause of preventable death.

  • Worldwide, tobacco use causes nearly 6 million deaths per year, and current trends show that tobacco use will cause more than 8 million deaths annually by 2030.2
  • Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.1
  • On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.3
  • If smoking continues at the current rate among U.S. youth, 5.6 million of today’s Americans younger than 18 years of age are expected to die prematurely from a smoking-related illness. This represents about one in every 13 Americans aged 17 years or younger who are alive today.

Still not convinced. Let’s do the other legal addictive drug. Alcohol. Who doesn’t enjoy a good stiff drink or two after a hard days work or while out driving, wait not driving, strike that, while out and about. I know I do. And, hell, even Jesus, if you believe in the Nazarene, turned water to wine but he didn’t turn it into a shot glass full of whiskey. I’m sure he could have if he wanted to but he knew that whiskey didn’t go with fish or anything else for that matter. While wine, in moderation, has actually been said to have rejuvenating effects on the body, Reseveratrol, a bottle of wine has shown to do just the opposite on your liver. Just ask your liver, don’t really ask your liver because if it talks back you have other issues. I would post images of people endorsing alcohol but, right now, I don’t think it would be the smartest move plus I like some of the people that they showed. The fact is that alcohol, in moderation, actually has some healthy benefits or, at least, that’s what the doctors tell us. Damn those yachts.

The other fact is that a certain percentage of people that use alcohol become addicted. That addiction, alcoholism, takes a heavy toll on people. Alcohol abuse, according to the CDC, causes a list of problems that lead to death that is longer than your arm, you know, the thing that bends at the middle to bring the glass to your lips. What’s sad is that the link provided has a page for deaths caused by chronic use of alcohol by people under 21. That means that these poor souls were addicted prior to the legal age of drinking. How? If the law says you can’t drink until 21, how can you be a chronic user before that? Because some people do not have scruples. I was a teen, growing up in Paterson, NJ when I first tried my first taste of alcohol illegally. We just waited outside a liquor store and gave a guy five bucks to buy us the holy grail of cheap booze, MD2020. The wino wine. It wasn’t hard, we just had to buy him his OE 800. This is what transpires and it’s not that unusual. So if you think that because they make a product only for adults that the youngens are not going to partake, well, that’s hopeful wishing.

Weed

This brings us to the topic at hand. Making fatty boom blatty legal. There are some misconceptions on how this is going to go down in the future. People think it will reduce the amount of illegal marijuana, it won’t. They think it will reduce jail times, it won’t. People think it will have a positive effect on society, we’ll see, maybe.

There is this agency called the ATF. It stands for Alcohol Tobacco and firearms. Do you know why they have this agency even though all these items are legal, you guessed it, because someone didn’t know they were legal, the same guy that didn’t know that Puerto Rico was a territory of the United States, remember that, it was hilarious, for me, not for the people of Puerto Rico. I’m kidding of course, the reason that they have this agency is because even though these items are legal, it’s still cheaper to get them under the table or illegally and cronick will not be any different. So expect the ATF to become the MATF not in the distant future if, and only if, thai stick becomes legal for recreational use in all 50 states. I’m a downer right, bringing these silly ideas up, well, I have a kid and the last thing I want is him and his buddies hanging out outside a dispensary, giving some guy some money. Let me tell you something, oh well, I guess I’m starting to preach a little and I don’t want to do that. Nobody listens to sermons anyway and that’s not what I’m trying to do. I guess I’m being a little bit of an over protective dad. I will say that you should do research before you make it completely legal.

The little research that has been done says that 10 percent of people that try endo will become addicted. That’s 1 out of every 10, really, that’s easy math. That’s 10 out of every hundred, that’s 100 out of 1,000, 1,000 out of 10,000. and so on. They expect this to be a multi billion dollar industry, that’s great, new taxes to pay for recovery. Multi billion assumes that maybe 10 million people will relish in the glow of bong by the bonfire. Well that’s a million addicts. That’s a conservative, not the political kind but the measurement kind, estimate. That’s a sh!t load of hippie lettuce. Those addicts, after they spent their life savings, because that’s exactly what addicts do, will then resort to other methods to make money for their habit as some people with addictions like drinking and gambling will do. They will also go to their neighborhood supplier, you know the guy that you are trying to replace because he isn’t giving Uncle Sam his share, making his/her spliff cheaper. I’m painting a picture here for you or at least I’m trying. Not convinced yet.

The sticky icky also makes you dumber, according to those limited research facts, that’s why I don’t take it or, god bless, I’ll never find my way home. These effects won’t be seen right away, sort of like climate change. It will take time before they are noticeable and like cigarettes and alcohol, by then it will be impossible to revert back to the good old days when you did it giphy

when the authorities weren’t looking and you got a little paranoid about it. Why is that good, because when things are illegal, people tend to stay away from it. When things are legal, no matter what the harm, people will use it, it will expand. The questions you have to ask are is it worth it? Is it worth it to make something legal and expand its use? Is it worth it to accept campaign contributions by lobbyists of the MATF corporations so they can count on your support to make it legal? Is it worth it to sell your soul and dignity for money? Is it worth it to promote a substance that has no benefits for recreational use? Is it worth it? I don’t know, really, I’m asking. It may be or it may not be. The one thing we know is that we don’t know but I don’t think we should find out. I’m all for not making it easier for recreational use and all for keeping it for medicinal use. If I have cancer than who gives a crap about the THC levels in my system. I say you should keep it as difficult as possible.

For those proponents of making it legal that say everyone smokes it anyway, I say everyone that you are with smokes it anyway because hardly anyone I was with smoked it. They are making those blanket statements that have no merit. Saying everyone does it is exactly what they say when they first try to get you to use it. Sound familiar, “here, try it, everyone does it.” That person is known as an enabler, a predator of sorts. He/she doesn’t want to do it alone so they say “everyone does it”. They are also try to excuse their behavior for doing it by saying “everyone does it”. It’s like the phrase in a movie that you hear right before you become the victim of that movie. Not everyone does it, not everyone wants to. I know I sound like a fuddy duddy, keeping sh!t PG, so fuddy duddy is the recommended acceptable terminology for the time being and b!tch isn’t, but I like visiting my local drug dealer, he/she is a nice person. Let them keep their jobs, if you pass this law for rec use, he’s just going to get richer and then he’s going to move to a classier neighborhood and then we’ll never hang out. Just kidding, I don’t use, can’t afford it. Wouldn’t if I could, I have a kid, you know how expensive they are? Love my little man, wouldn’t want him to see me doing anything like that. 100, 50 maybe 30 years from now, that tax revenue and lobbyist money is not going to be worth it. Don’t let me be right and make me put your picture up here as a supporter of the left handed cigarette. Just keep the status quo, you know, the guy at the corner watching out for the police while the guys on the stoop shake your hand and make the transfer or that friend that delivers in his backpack to parties and gives the same kush with different names so he can charge more, you’re not fooling anyone pal, I’ll take the Mango Mellow please or, if you’re rich enough, you just serve it on a platter at a party. But for God’s sakes, keep it illicit and dirty, don’t put a tuxedo on a tweed and pass it as the next best thing since the previous best thing.

IF they do pass legislation legalizing Cannabis, then I’m going to invest in Wise potato chips and twinkies, I’m not for rec use but I’m no dummy, I’m opening up a 24 hour 7/11. I’ll leave you with this thought, don’t you wish cigarettes and alcohol were always illegal and we can have all, or at least most, of those loved ones back that lost their lives to that stuff. Love you pops….. no, he’s still alive but not in the best condition as he suffers from COPD and has spots on his lungs.

Demo Debate 1/17/16

dem debate

The Demo debate started the same way all other debates did, with the candidates walking out on stage. There was no dancing, no hip hop or as my grandfather would say, “hippity hoppity goings on”, there was no fireworks or ballyhoo. Just straight walk to the podium. Sometimes it’s alright to tune in a little late to a debate.

The debate started with a simple format, the candidates were first asked for their opening remarks and to name three things they most care about . They all pretty much parroted themselves without the awkward gaawwwk sound in between speeches. The Demos started with business as usual. Poor people are being picked on and it’s the Repubs fault, Big business runs the planet, climate change is going to give you a perpetual winter and since you are poor you can’t have skis or a fur coat, minimum wage needs to be raised and that you are still poor and it’s still the Repubs fault, health care, especially mental illness, is a problem mainly because they feel you must be crazy if you don’t vote for them and green energy, living wage, family care and medical leave act,  gun control, campaign finance and about five or six other things. I don’t think they understood the concept of three. Right after two and before you hit four. Three. I couldn’t write fast enough and my TIVO was busy recording the football game, alright Homeland. Either way I couldn’t get their three issues down.

GUNS

Sanders – I am relooking into our position of gun control. For now it remains don’t grasp the weapon to tight or it will throw off your aim. Don’t see the need for military style weapons, even for hunters. Background checks should be made for everyone. When questioned about his support for weapons, Sanders said he has a D minus rating by the NRA and did not support going after small dealers for the actions of crazy killer people.

Clinton – All guns, except for my secret service guys, should be in your homes. No immunity for gun shop owners. Gun violence is a plague and they don’t donate to my campaign.

O’Malley – For President in ’20 or ’24, depending.

My take is guns are going to be used whether you try to control them or not. Criminals always find ways to get guns. Banning long guns makes no sense because long guns are easier to take away from a person then a pistol. Most gun assaults happen within 30 feet of the person and very few are sniper shots and shooting on automatic, instead of semi automatic is way less accurate. Their reasons for gun control are not great. You may want to ban weapons that the Secret Service uses to the general public or any weapon that doesn’t have a good kick on automatic, beyond that and without banning weapons completely, you really should look at how to make it so you can disable a weapon by remote use. That’s the only way to stop mass shootings.

African American Rights-Civil Rights

Moderators made it clear that Clinton leads Sanders in the African American vote,, they asked the candidate why does he think that is.

Sanders – Mostly responded because he is an unknown commodity and when they get to know me they will change their mind. One of Sanders biggest moments of the night came about the unequal treatment of minorities. His biggest reference was to how a young black man will see jail time for marijuana possession but CEO’s who defraud the government and are made to pay a fine of 5 billion dollars don’t see one day of jail time. It echoed loudly. Marijuana now seems to be more dangerous then ripping off the government. He went off, HE WENT OFF, that means he did really well and was very emotional about the issue and not that he nodded off, because he’s old, it’s funny because he’s old. Sanders was also the first to mention Latino voters. Sanders also said that changes should be made in policing, that it should be community policing and not para-military, that answer came from a video question from the public

Clinton – Stated that she has a long record of fighting inequality. Wasn’t overly animated about the subject but was on point, as usual. Referenced several cases and people that she has worked with over the years. Clinton also said that the war on drugs should be treated as a medical condition, I wonder if that means El Chapo needs a therapist.

O’Malley – For President in ’20 or ’24, depending.

This round went to Sanders on the virtue of pointing out the injustice of socioeconomic situations and how the justice system is blind unless it smells cash, then it peeks through it’s blindfold. Don’t tell Bernie Madoff though, he didn’t get the memo, I guess you can’t rip off rich people. O’Malley said something too, can’t remember what.

I believe that drug addiction is something that doctors should treat but if you stop the entry of drugs into the country then there will be less need for interdictions. It should be fought on many fronts.

Health Insurance

Sanders – Free universal health care that you have to pay for. Ha, actually, he will tax you on your income for it but he will eliminate the need for  Insurance premiums which he boasts that in the long run would save you $5,000.00 or so a year. Sander’s plan was put out two hours prior and given a sneak peek to some economists which said that it isn’t as outrageous as it sounds. I don’t know if that is an endorsement or not.

Clinton – Build on the existing plan, the ACA, and make it better. Work out the bugs and make into a plan for everyone. For her part, saying that starting over with new legislation will be to difficult.

O’Malley – For President in ’20 or ’24, depending.

This round was a weird arm wrestling match between Sanders and Clinton. Clinton kept stating that starting over would be to hard and Sanders said that it wasn’t a tax even though I’m going to tax you, because you won’t be paying Insurance premiums, which would offset the tax that isn’t a tax. I’m confused. In this, the round goes to O’Malley, who didn’t speak. Health Care is a difficult issue and the person that has to address it, no matter who, is going to have a difficult time. Good luck to the next President on it.

Bringing The Country Together

Sanders – For his part never changed his position, get rid of special interest, you get rid of your problems. Class warfare. Special Interest’s fault. Drugs, inequality, high taxes, herpes, special interests fault. I see a theme here.

Clinton – Says she is a uniter of people, don’t know if she meant like match . com or like a boxing promoter. Her biggest hurdle will be congress, who have shown a little bit of a disliking for her, even though she says she has worked with them in the past and will do so in the future. The dislike could easily be because she is seen as the front runner for the Demo’s, Sander’s is creeping up in the dislike poll for the Repubs.

O’Malley – For President in ’20 or ’24, depending. I think he said, can I say something, the moderators said commercial break!

Round Clinton, because she answered the question, even though I liked Bernie’s persistence that the world is rainbows and lollipops if special interest hadn’t stole them.

Big Business

Sanders – Sander’s bread and butter. If you are to big to fail you are to big to be. Not exactly Shakespeare but close and he might have known William personally, because he’s old, that’s funny because he’s old. He also made a reference on how under dressed jails are and need more suits in there, that they are attached to bankers is a plus. He feels that CEO’s should face the power of the Department of Justice’s sword with full ferocity and know what it’s like to see the world obstructed with metal pinstripes instead of the gold shiny ones on their suits.

Clinton – Best line of the night, “No bank to big to fail, No person to big to jail”. That’s an awesome slogan. With her, uh, pending review from the Department of Justice, it was a bold statement. The fact is Sec. Clinton is not going to be prosecuted and she is right on focusing her talent on giving us her best view of herself for President. She said that she has stood up against the Wolf on Wall St. and will continue to do so.

O’Malley – For Presi….. wait, in this argument he kept interrupting Clinton and saying shemartin omalley was not being completely forthcoming. That she took donations from big business and that her rhetoric was all for show. Clinton fired back but since she is all for gun control, her gun had no bullets.

Round Sanders, did you expect anything else. I swear Sanders applied to work with one of these companies and they just pointed and laughed. Sanders dislikes, to say the least, the Wolf on Wall Street, maybe they stole his farm, I don’t know. He sees it as THE problem to address and he may be right. 16 years ago, he wasn’t, now, maybe. Timing, it’s what differentiates champions from the would be contenders. I think his timing for his disgust for big business might be what resonates the loudest.

IRAN AND SYRIA

Sanders – This would be Sander’s weakest attribute, mainly because anytime you ask him about anything, somehow, special interest makes its way into the discussion. How do you handle ISIS, take down Goldman Sachs. Not this time, he was concise, strong and well versed. I forgot what he said. Just kidding, he said, I’m not putting anyone in harms way so they can do something that other people should do for themselves. We’re not mercenaries for hire. Sanders, correctly stated, in my opinion, to focus on one thing and get it done. In this case, the threat of ISIS. We’ll handle Assad later, diplomatically. On Iran, Diplomacy was the word of the day. This is where the Repubs and the Demos differ.

Clinton – For the most part echoed Sander’s sentiments, a change from her previous positions as Sec. of State. Sec. Clinton has a checkered past in foreign affairs. That will happen when you are part of it longer than the people you are running against. That doesn’t excuse it but it can lead to some leeway, nobody is perfect, but she did previously say that taking out Assad was a priority, even through military might. Madam Secretary now says that diplomacy would probably be the best option. I don’t care about flip flops I care that you ultimately get it right. I think that is the right choice.

O’Malley – For President in ’20 or ’24, depending.

I was in the military, served my country during time of war. Didn’t see any of the candidates there, Repub or Demo, know what I mean. Quick to send someone in there to fight before trying something else, great, It’s your choice as Commander in Chief,( I swear it should be and but it’s in). Twenty-six of our 44 Presidents served in the military. Presidential Veterans often coincided with America’s military engagements. The last to serve was “W” in the Air Force Reserves, the last one to actually take up arms in a conflict was H.W. as a pilot who earned a distinguished flying cross and was shot down. H.W. enlisted on his own and was not drafted. Of the candidates that are vying for position to send young men and women off to die, none have volunteered for military duty or have worked at a VA. I’m not putting down these candidates, I’m just reminding them that there is more to fighting a war then appeasing their constituents, most who have probably not served either. I, personally, never made it to war and I’m probably luckier for it. But I joined, for personal reasons and knew people that served. I would definitely make it my last option to let anyone die over something that could have been negotiated.

The Rest Of The Issues

The candidates were also asked about Privacy, all of them for it, Lone Wolfs, all of them against it, Climate Change, Sanders blames Goldman Sachs, and asked about Bill Clinton. The last one was a surprise. I didn’t know that the former President was running again, I guess as a Repub? How did Bill become an issue? He is a captivating public figure with some indiscretions in the past. I don’t judge him by that, I judge him by his work as President. He’s one of the best in the last 50 years. That simple. His one gaffe, deregulation of the banks. Like I said, no one is perfect. Coincidentally enough, it came at the same time as Ms. Lewinsky, maybe a compromise with congress. Either way, he shouldn’t have done it, either of it. Sec. Clinton was asked about using her husband as an adviser, she said she would let him talk at the kitchen table, beyond that she would take it as it goes.

bill clintonSen Sanders was asked about his remark saying that Bill Clinton’s actions with Ms. Lewinsky very, very, very disgusting. Last night, when pressed about if he regretted saying that, Sanders looked peeved and rightfully so. This isn’t Days of Our Lives, it’s a presidential debate. Are you asking the man who gave an answer to a question, who was asked and didn’t just blurt it out, if he regretted saying that adultery is wrong about a very influential and liked former President in the Demo ranks? It was a lose lose question. You degrade the popular President and you screwed yourself, figuratively of course, you say that adultery is Ok, then you aren’t winning the nod. I’m going to give Sanders massive credit for doing something that he doesn’t normally do, thinking on his feet and finding a viable way out. He didn’t blame Golden Sachs, even though he probably thought about it, he said that action was deplorable but he wasn’t here to degrade anyone, that he was here to talk about the issues that concern the American people. It was a gotcha question by the moderators that got them. The question was in poor taste and do not see any good use for it, unless it was meant to trip him up. You can’t condone bad behavior but Bill is definitely still viewed positively in the Demo party. For his part Sanders handled it very well and shame on the moderators, bullies. The other person that handled it well, Sec. Clinton. She smiled and let it roll off her shoulders and thanked Sanders for his smart maneuvering.

Winner, Sanders but not by a lot. It was close until the Bill question. Then Sanders eeked it out.

As for Martin O’Malley, for President in ’20 or ’24, depending.

The Movement to Legalize Mary Jane

marijuana

Let me start by saying that Mary Jane is not an illegal alien or a prostitute. A lot of people in this era might not know that Mary Jane actually refers to or is a pseudonym for cannabis or, best known as, marijuana. The popular narcotic goes by several noms de plume like bammer, bubonic chronic, endo, giggle stick and hydro. I used to know it by weed, blunts, chiba (pronouced cheeba), cheeba, grass, roach and the wacky tobaccy.

In an article in Vox.com written by German Lopez titled “Marijuana Legalization is Already Making Mexican Drug Cartels Poorer”, that is some title, I guess you really don’t need an article with a title that long, it pretty much states everything, nevertheless German gives reasons for legalization. German, I’m just guessing by reading the article, is a fan of the ganja. German doesn’t specifically state this in his story so it’s just an educated guess on my part.

German advocates the legalization of BC bud by pointing out that it has reduced the amount of the cartel’s drug export revenue as much as 30% according to the estimates of the Mexican Institute of Competitiveness, I can write the word but I can barely say it, competitiveness. I’m guessing the institute measures the competitiveness of the drug cartels against

marijuana 3
before…………after

each other? I can’t see that any estimate for an illegal activity can be accurately measured unless it has hard results, like death. Now, if you died every time you smoked a joint, then we can count the bodies. But since most people laugh or eat cheeseburgers when they smoke bud, we would have to measure the amount of laughter that we normally hear to the excess laughter and then ask McDonalds to show us if their was an uptick in cheeseburger consumption. In other words, it’s impossible to know. Basically, this is an estimate that can be off by as much as 30%. There is no way of really telling if the legalization of medical marijuana has even put a dent in the drug trade. I could go ask Chapo Guzman “how’s business” but being that he is currently on the lam, he would most likely refuse to answer, politely anyway. I imagine it would be a more “meet my little friend” kind of encounter.

In his article German also argues the point that legalization is also

mexican cartel 2
Mexican Cartel

reducing drug cartel’s power around the world. The reasoning behind that statement is if there is no demand then there is no money for the supply, then there is no supply. That’s economics 101 at the school for the way less gifted. Cutting Mexican dirt weed by 30%, if true, wouldn’t have the hard core consequences necessary to stop the trade and what will happen is they will come up with a form of marijuana, maybe laced with other more addicting additives that the legalization effort will not be able to mimic and get the youth of today and the bum of tomorrow hooked. The people in charge of these cartels might be hardened criminals without morals or enough intelligence to operate a remote control, just kidding mister cartel leader murderer sir, but they have more money then they declared on

Not a Mexican Cartel

their taxes and use it to hire those people that know how to tweek kush so it will be KUSH or kush 2.0.

There’s other reasons why legalization, not medical which is already in place, but full blown legalization would not work. Money. Legal combustible herbage would be taxed at a rate similar to tobacco products because they have to make enough to offset the upcoming wave of medical problems. Unlike tobacco products, which should also be outlawed, not my cuban cigars but the other stuff, 420 ( a real pseudonym for cannabis) has hallucinogenic affects and mind altering ability due to the THC, tetrahydrocannabinol, (say that three times fast, I can’t even say it one time right), compound found in crippy. This will lead to more DWI’s and loud noise complaints about people laughing uncontrollably. It will though create a stock market increase in businesses such as Taco Bell and Burger King who will see their stocks rise due to a phenomenon called the munchies, a real thing, or at least that’s what I’ve been told. Look for Warren Buffet to do a hostile takeover of Wendy’s if this law passes. Other businesses that will boom will be Law Enforcement and hospitals. More manpower will be needed for both industries. Another added tax for reefer.

According to drugabuse.gov, the prolonged use of herbal refreshment will decrease your IQ by a whopping, get it like whopper, 8 points, so if you were already borderline, man, you just crossed over to stupid in a couple of puffs. Other areas of trouble are are breathing problems, tachycardia with an increased risk of a heart attack, and like any other inhaled substances, the fetal problems if you decide to get high while pregnant. Other problems from prolonged use of hooter are temporary hallucinations

marijuana worst parent alive
Good for nothing.

(which might be cool if your not in a penthouse), temporary paranoia (which is really only cool in other people) and if you are already suffering from a mental disease, like crazy, because then you are  going to be CRAZY or crazy 2.0.  It will make your depression depressed (mainly because you ran out of munchies), give you anxiety and suicidal ideations. Most of these last symptoms in teens, probably because they ran out of munchies. It also makes you lazy, see better, as it helps glaucoma while being lazy, and 9% of the population will get addicted. Might Mez is also considered a gateway drug according to the National Institute of Health, a government website. For more information on how that is please click on the link attached but come back and finish reading my article. As my grandmother would say to my uncle “you lazy good for nothing moron”. Just to clear things up, while lazy and moron have been established with the use of chronic, good for nothing is just a theory, except with these two ladies pictured.

The decision to make fatty boom blatty fully legal is not mine to make, solely. These decisions are left up to your State, who then put the proposal on a ballot and call it something cool like proposition 19.  Who wouldn’t vote for proposimarijuana 2tion 19? The people that lobby for the proposition usually have some kind of risk reward factor. They are probably the company who will build those fancy new buildings that house the hog leg or the farms that grow it. Like all businesses that once were illegal and then became legal, those parent companies probably had something to do with the illegal portion of it before. Just ask the Kennedys, whose rumored beginnings as bootleggers led to John being President of the United States. Ultimately, though, after a bombardment of ads and famous people endorsing the thai stick, you have to make the decision for the future of your children. And if it passes, full blown legalization, I can’t wait to tell my son about the place next door that sells sticky icky icky like cigarettes from a vending machine. To be fair, I never tried pakaloco, or any illegal narcotic, in my life, but I talked to people that have and they all say the same thing, that they don’t want their kids doing it. Their actual exact words, more often than not, were, “Are you f*cking nuts!, Hell no”. So when making the decision on whether you want to legalize any narcotic outright, look at your kid and say “I’m going to f*ck up your life” that’s if you are voting yes. But that’s just my opinion.

-M. Lam-Paz

Abortion.

EXPLICIT LANGUAGE AND DETAIL. NOT FOR MINORS READING.

How to start this topic? I guess I’ll start with my experience with the dreaded “a” word. When I was 17, I was dating this beautiful, at least to me, Peruvian American woman, she was a year younger, and we had a scintillating 3 images (5)year relationship full of teenage drama and emotional roller coaster rides and  lots of sex. Janina, I’ll just use her first name to protect her identity, was my first love and my first lover. I met her at an Antioch, a religious retreat, when I was 16. We exchanged numbers and started a slow moving relationship that lasted through several small break-ups and one very scary moment. In the summer of 1988 or was it 89, in the summer of a long time ago, I sat with Janina, at her house, at the kitchen table. She had called me earlier, on a landline, cellphones back then were too expensive and texting was putting a note on a rock and throwing it through a window, and had stated that she needed to talk to me. She told me that she thought she was pregnant and that she was late. My heart started to beat fast and I stupidly said “but how” the first thing that came out. She just looked at me like I was a buffoon, “what do you mean how, you weren’t complaining while you were doing it” she raised her voice. Oh yeah. I was thinking to myself, this can’t be, I have so many things to do. I have to go to college, I have to get a job, I have to climb Mt. Everest. That’s it, I’ll climb Mt. Everest, she can’t find me there. “How about an abortion?” I asked her. I really did not want to be a dad. I was nervous and it was the first thing I thought of, after the Mt. Everest idea, that is. Which if you think about it….. no, that was a stupid idea. She said she didn’t know what she wanted to do, her first thought was to go live with an aunt in Florida, “an Aunt in Florida?”

We decided that we were going to go to Planned Parenthood to get a pregnancy test. She was old enough where she didn’t need her parent’s consent. After about a day of wondering, I got hold of a car and I drove her to Planned Parenthood where she entered and got a pregnancy test. I prayed that day. It might have been my most religious day of my life. Our father who ate in heaven, hollow be thy tree, thy kingdom come , so did I and that’s why I am in so much trouble. Please help. Amen. I waited in the car until she was done. She came out of Planned Parenthood and got in the car that I “borrowed” from my parents. She looked at me and my heart sunk, “pregnant aren’t you, shit, I knew it”. She said “No, I’m not”. My memory is fuzzy about what happened next. All I know is that the sun was brighter, the day was more beautiful, life was amazing, there was a God, for right now, and he answered my beautiful prayer. The problem with me is that I was young and did not know how to handle that situation. Time would take care of that problem.

Eighteen years later, in Elizabeth, N.J., the same exact thing happened. This time God must have had better things to do, because I used the same exact prayer that I did back than. Different woman, different result. Cata, abbreviated first name, told me and I said “Abortion?” and she gave me a look that would freeze the national debt and turn it backwards “or whatever you want”, I continued, ” I support you in whatever decision you make.” Different reaction. Time.

I Think I got more reliant on prayer then I did safe sex, but that is one heck of a prayer, if I do say so myself. Nine months later, I’m  a PROUD dad of a bouncing little person and I couldn’t be happier. The most AMAZING thing that happened to me in my life and one of the few things I would risk my life for without thinking twice. Truly a miracle.

So why are so many people against abortion? I was all for it until my child was born and then I was confused. At that time though, I was financially sound and had a really good job, that paid very well. I could afford the miracle, or surprise, better yet a Miracle Surprise. I was and still am extremely happy that Cata was the mother and was against having an abortion. But not everyone is or was as lucky as me, back then.

Money is a serious issue when thinking about having a child. Children are expensive. They want food and clothes and do this horrible noise when you don’t give them that stuff. And they grow!! So the clothes you just bought them, none are any good. Money down the proverbial drain. And you can’t just stretch the clothes to make them bigger, no, they rip. What a money maker for a business.

Then there is housing. You have to live somewhere. You could live with your mother and father but then you have grandma knows best situations which could be tricky. No, you really need your own place for your wife to yell at you for watching football while the little one is learning to walk and break lamps. And when you high five them for their achievement, there’s mom with her hands at her waist “Turn that TV off”, I swore that was my name.

Then there is doctor bills. Good jobs have sucky insurance, so sucky jobs have nothing. You spend and spend and spend. So why abortions you ask? Sometimes people are overwhelmed or not ready for the responsibility of being a parent. Then you have people calling other people that are on public assistance, deadbeats and parasites. So they say, I’m not going to be one, I have to abort, then those same people are at the abortion clinics calling you a murderer. You see the double edged sword of making people feel like shit. You chastise them for one thing and when they try to correct it, they chastise you for the other. You can’t win with some people. I call those people, People in dear need of a blow job. Or a good lay, I don’t want to gender discriminate. Or maybe a hot enema, you see, that’s gender neutral.

Pregnancies happen, even if you use protection. The only real protection from getting pregnant is abstinence. Let’s face it, that isn’t going to happen very often. You can try to teach your kids abstinence but they are going to wonder why and go do it. It’s hard decisions. You have to teach them safe sex, trust me on that one.

So, are you? A murderer? I have been lucky in my life to not ever have had to find out what it feels like to have had a girlfriend or wife who had an abortion, that was pregnant with my kid anyway. I’m telling you that prayer is 99% effective.

The definition of murder is Murder occurs when one human being unlawfully kills another human being. See Homicide. The precise legal definition of murder varies by jurisdiction. Most states distinguish between different degrees of murder. Some other states base their murder laws on the Model Penal Code.

That did nothing to help me decide. When are we human beings? Is it at birth or conception or sometime in between? Some people say when the heart starts to beat and others say when you can live outside the womb. I say I’m not in the position to decide, Thank God, again. But I do have an opinion. I am a christian, if I am any religion. And the good book says judge not unless ye be judged or judge not unless you are a judge and there is a jury present or just stop judging people. If you have to make a decision of aborting because your situation is that you have no support, no money and that the child would be lost in a state institution and you would rather it be in heaven, believe me that might not be a bad choice. And if you decide to abort, then I say to you that God will judge you at the pearly gates and you will answer for what you have done, but I’m not going to judge you, neither here or ever, because I’m not him and it’s your choice.

And I’m sure you will go through your own personal hell after having your first kid and thinking back to the last abortion, hopefully only one. I strongly believe that God is pro choice because he wants to be the one to send you where you need to go and also because he gave it to us, choice, the only animal alive to have that power. That’s if you believe in creation and not in evolution. I am 50/ 50 when it comes to religion, and just in case I am wrong, I can show God this article as proof, if it ever comes to that. You see God, I believed in you, half of the time.

Now if you thought God is going to send you to heaven after you read that last paragraph, then good for you, I hear God is forgiving if nothing else, but if you thought hell, then you are feeling guilty and there is really nothing left for me to do to you that you aren’t doing to yourself.

My thought is that anyone thinking about an abortion should have a class before aborting, just non-medical emergency abortions, and be forced to volunteer at a pediatric clinic, then if you still want to abort, it is your choice. It actually may be the more humane thing in certain situations, I really don’t know.

I’m calling my child right now and telling him/her that I love him/her, my child is just one gender, just in case you are worried with my statement. I just don’t want you to know which one, that’s sexist.

Illegal Immigration and Business

Illegal immigration has been a problem for this country since some pesky Europeans decided in 1492 that they were fed up with life and were going to sail off the end of the world. Galileo told them that they were wrong, I think his exacBorn-in-East-LAt words were “you’re wrong”, don’t quote me, I wasn’t there, for that you are going to have to ask Bernie Sanders, you get it, because he’s old, but still my first choice for Commander and Chief, even with his mid-afternoon naps. Galileo specifically said that the world was round but Columbus was so depressed due to Marco Polo’s discovery of noodles in China that he  headed west. Now, if you are saying to yourself that all these people were in different time periods, I say I’m a blog not CNN or FOX News, which means I probably have more accurate news. Now let’s fast forward to the present day.

Illegal Immigration in the present day is completely different from the swashbuckling days of yesteryear, wow, that sentence is too funny. Illegals no longer possess the names Smith, Achterberg, Sanchez (Spain), Bartlett or Hancock. they now are made mostly of Gutierrez, Sanchez (Mexico), Bedoya, and Flores. Most of our illegal immigrants come from Central and South America. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the estimates are 11.4 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States, down from 11.5 million in 2011. Other sources put the number higher and lower, i.e. the GOP debate says up to 30 million and the DNC debate says what illegal immigrants. The top countries of origin are Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Phillipines. You know what these countries have in common with us, they are all

democracies. They have Presidents and Legislations similar to ours. The follow our model of government to some point. Most are considered Flawed Democracies, meaning that their civil rights records are not up to par or, like Venezuela used to do, they would forget to add the opponents name on the ballot, oops, mi culpa. Venezuela aside, most countries try to hold fair elections. So what’s my point? I am wondering why our screwed up neighbors to the south send us so many of their wonderful people to visit us. Most illegal immigrants that I spoke with say the same thing, jobs, money, needing to eat, to visit Niagara Falls, the last one was pretty uncommon. They don’t have businesses in Central America. But how can that be? All my sneakers are made there, except for my New Balances which are mostly made in the U.S.A. So I look at my tags on my sneakers, this time with my glasses on and I see A-N-I-H-C. That spells Anihc? Haha, I have the tag upside down, C-H-I-N-A, That spells China, really it does. I was wondering why companies that were mostly innovated in the U.S.A. have their factories in an Authoritarian Regime? Aren’t we trying to stop the growth of such states and  flourish the growth of Democracies similar to ours, some of who are located on our southern border?

As a whole the European Union, made up of democratic governments, has the best GDP, Gross Domestic Product of any country conglomerate in the world. Singularly, as a single country and not a bunch of countries getting together to fudge the numbers while they play poker,  the U.S.A. is number one. Number two, and growing fast, is communist China, thanks to businesses that prefer making money over… I guess over not making that much money? Ok, reportedly the cost of doing business in China is a quarter of the cost of doing business in the U.S.A. That does not bode well for us in trying to retain businesses here. We all heard the argument of corporate greed and what not, right. I see the same old pictures of the same people picketing the big businesses on Wall Street and the only thing that changes is that the picketers get older while the guy walking to his office gets out out of a newer Mercedes. They get older, the Mercedes get younger. But this isn’t about some crazy picketer who is picketing the Cigarette companies in front of the Bank companies. No, this is a story of why aren’t we redirecting these companies to Central America, our neighbors that keep forgetting to put their opponents on the ballot (Just Venezuela)?

Our problem from the south is that people are coming to our country to images (2)find jobs and make ends meat. Also the drug corridor and to boot the increasing influence of China, which is not located on our southern border. If we were to follow a model similar to that of the European Union, I mean we don’t have to become a Union, we can just live together until we feel like making that leap, we can fix those problems, I think. If our politicians were to start making deals with big business and the leaders of the Central American countries and try and move the manufacturing jobs to the southern countries, we could solve all of our problems in one clean swoop, ehh sweep, or is it swoop, in one try. Start giving countries tax breaks for doing manufacturing in a democratic regime and start a security anti-authoritarian hacking our government computer tax, we’ll just call it a SAAHOGC Tax, named after the first Chinese hacker, not really. If you give our friends from the Southern Border reason to stay in their beautiful countries then, I’m sure, they would love us for it and actually only come here to visit and spend their hard earned money, like we will train them to do. Once you build jobs, security will follow, meaning that running drugs will be frowned on by big business and therefore, the countries will actually do something about it because the bribes from the drug lords won’t match the money they make from manufacturing jobs.

Where’s my two dollars?

And they will have to choose one or the other. Now, we aren’t doing this to be nice, no, it’s strictly self-interest. One analogy would be if I had a nice lawn and my neighbors lawns were full of crabgrass, weeds, (not the kind you smoke), dried out and infected with rodents, then I have the prettiest yard in a crappy neighborhood. Or if my lawn was nice and so were my neighbors, the you have a happy neighborhood. Let the next town over worry about their messy lawns, in this case, let Asia do their own thing and let us fix our neighborhood first. I know that sounds mean and uncaring, but I care, about taking care of us so we then can take care of others, if they need the help. I once dated a flight attendant and I asked her why wouldn’t I put the mask on my kid first and she said because you are the adult and if you pass out your kid isn’t going to be able to help you or anyone. So, we have our oxygen masks on, now let us help the person next to us, then we can help everyone else. We can help make them be profitable and fix these problems and have them help with our GDP by tourism and profit sharing, I mean who doesn’t want to visit Route 66, or you can just build the wall and hope those weeds don’t spread in our yard. I don’t know, maybe we can do both. But undoubtedly, it is up to the politicians to make this happen.
