Pete Buttigieg’s question to woman who shook RFK’s hand takes awkward turn

Presidential candidate and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg had an awkward campaign trail encounter Tuesday with a woman in Iowa who told him she once met the late-Robert F. Kennedy.

The Democrat was campaigning at the Iowa State Fair when a woman approached him and said she met Kennedy in 1968, according to a tweet from a CNN producer.

“I shook Robert Kennedy’s hand in 1968,” the woman told him.

SOUTH BEND COPS WARN CITY BECOMING ‘WILD WEST’ AMID SPATE OF SHOOTINGS, RIFT WITH BUTTIGIEG

Buttigieg responded: “So you’re good luck?”

“Not really— he was shot a month later,” the woman said.

Kennedy, the former senator and attorney general beloved by liberals, was assassinated in California in 1968 while seeking the Democratic nomination for president. His brother, President John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in 1963.

Buttigieg is among the Democratics who have been campaigning over the last few days at the Iowa State Fair.

“I’m running for president because it’s time to have somebody in the Oval Office who will stick up for American values,” Buttigieg said during a speech at the fair Tuesday.

Manny’s Blog comment…….

Hopefully Mayor Pete skipped the hand shake and gave her a hug instead.

ALL BACK SEATS SHOULD BE PRESSURE SENSITIVE AND HAVE AN ALARM

pressure sensitive seats

In the rash of people leaving their children in cars during hot days, car manufacturers and politicians should become involved and mandate pressure sensitive seats that set off an alarm that can only be shut down by pushing a button located in the back compartment. With technology the way it is today, there has to be some common sense idea that can prevent infant deaths when the parents get distracted. If the button is pushed and the child is still there, then you know it was intentional.

After Shootings, FBI Agents Association Calls on Congress to Criminalize Domestic Terrorism (NEWSWEEK)

FBI 1

“Domestic terrorism is a threat to the American people and our democracy. Acts of violence intended to intimidate civilian populations or to influence or affect government policy should be prosecuted as domestic terrorism regardless of the ideology behind them,” the FBI Agents Association (FBIAA)….

That’s a fair statement and an unfair statement at the same time. I think, to make it completely fair, that ideologies, if those ideologies promote violence, and who and how they came to be, should be part of the criminal trial, regardless who was behind the shootings. A full investigation would and should include exactly how these people became mass shooters and should include anyone, i.e. people on 8chan, that had anything to do with this hysteria. You locked up the blind sheikh because of hate speech that incited violence, something we all agree with, why would you not do it for domestic terrorism? That would mean that anyone, regardless of how they influenced these young and impressionable people to commit these horrific acts, should face the justice system. I don’t care if they whispered it, did it through an internet site, had a group meeting, hypnotized them or through magic by wave of hands, they should all be held responsible if just one person is injured. I don’t think half measures are going to get the job done.

In New Jersey, they stopped a domestic terrorism case with no one getting injured, why does anyone have to get injured?

We all know the story of Frankenstein and how he was brought to life with electricity by the doctor who instilled in him, through that method, a desire to kill. Shouldn’t the doctor also be held responsible?

MPO: BE CAREFUL OF WHO YOU LABEL CRAZY

crazy

All I hear is public officials calling people mentally incompetent. That is not for them to state only professionals with a degree that are not on the payroll should make that diagnosis. I’m not saying that these mass shooters weren’t experiencing mental breakdowns, I am saying that we all know that there is more behind the scenes than some people would like to let on.

In 1493, Leonardo Da Vinci thought of the first lighter than air concept. A corkscrew helicopter. He was deemed loco, a nut job, a slow poke or what some people call insane. It wasn’t until 1940 that the helicopter would be invented.

With all these significantly high tech weaponary, you are never sure who is responsible for what anymore. But if you ask me, crazy is the person that can’t take responsibility for his actions, points the finger, while the whole time continuing to act in the same manner.

It’s the video game effect, (trademarked), where if you can control someone with high tech weaponary and make them go all bonkers and they do crazy shit. At the end day, they compared the amount of points, like a video game, in this case it’s body bags.

MPO: MARSHALL PLAN

marshall plan

A Marshall Plan is an amazing idea that would ensure the safety of our neighbors to the south and have a curbing effect on illegal immigration as well as boosting a slacking economy. I always wondered why businesses choose an authoritarian regime with goals of usurping democracy over democratic countries that are less than half the distance away. I am hoping this would mean opening drug interdiction bases manned by American or NATO troops and opening trade routes and re-directing businesses to the south. No plan will work unless you rid these countries of the scourge of drug running. This would also negate any need for tariff wars with China that would take a financial toll on this country. We hold most of the cards, we used to hold all the cards, pretty soon we’ll have the losing hand.

MPO: RACE IS A FOUR LETTER WORD

I was drawn into a debate about the disparities in our government and I gave an opinion that doesn’t really reflect my views. It is true that parts of our government are  mostly white and doesn’t represent the diversity in our nation. The fact is that doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if our government was 100 per cent white or 100 per cent African American or 100 per cent Hispanic American, that should not be the concern, the concern is if they are 100 per cent right in their actions. It would be nice to have percentages that reflect our nation and we should all endeavor to reach these equalities but I would rather it be 100% right and honest and for the people, then 100 per cent politically correct. Character is not located in your skin, it is located in your mind, heart, soul and shown in your actions.

WHAT I FEEL THE CANDIDATE IS NOT SAYING

biden

After watching 4 debates, here’s my take on what the candidate is not saying and should.

Biden: Not that I think he should get the nod but sometimes you just want express your opinion:

Joe Biden keeps getting attacked on his past votes and actions (like he should). He should stop defending his votes and state the obvious. Then is not now. No one would have been able to have the conversation that we are having now without taking the baby steps of yesterday. That it is only possible to take the steps we are today because of the steps we fought for yesterday. You have to make inroads before you make super highways. If you had tried to take the ambitious steps you are taking today, back then, in that atmosphere, be it climate change, racial disparity, global trading… it wouldn’t have made it passed morning coffee. Everything you are trying to implement today is because of the baby steps of yesterday. No one is born and runs a marathon, you first have to crawl, then walk and then you can run.

I felt bad for giving him shit for his immigration policy views, they are wrong by the way, but I think his campaign manager isn’t setting the record straight the right way and for the record, I don’t think he is a nimrod.
