IN SHARED NEWS: The Washington Post: Pence calls Chief Justice John Roberts a ‘disappointment to conservatives’ by John Wagner

In shared news, the Supreme Court Chief Justice is under attack for not towing a political ideology. While I have the greatest respect for VP Pence, this has been the norm throughout history for both parties. The Judicial branch is suppose to be an apolitical identity to balance out the other two branches of government. It keeps matters fair and it balances the good of the people with the good of the government. If the Judicial branch were to all of a sudden become politicized, it could make rulings that would find one party’s ideology illegal while preserving the other party’s ideology, no matter how flawed. I write these posts because it is my hope that one day a very smart and courageous woman or man will challenge the way Federal Judges are chosen and give complete autonomy to the third branch of government. I still believe that the Judicial Branch, a separate part of government, should appoint their own employees. Supreme Court Justices should be chosen by the current Supreme Court Justices and then selected by the Executive branch and then confirmed by the Legislative Branch. This would go a long way to fixing a lot of problems. And I believe the Judicial Branch should definitely have better protection, because once they fear for their safety, their rulings can now become influenced by the other branches. This is one of the reasons why I thought Mayor Buttigieg would have made a good President. He broached the idea of starting a conversation about that subject. I think it’s time we made it a reality. For the record, Chief Justice Roberts seems to be a man with honor and courage. It isn’t easy doing the right thing sometimes but it is what needs to be done and that’s how he will be remembered.

If you want to see it another way, here’s a shitty parable I just thought of. You can’t build anything without a solid foundation. A crappy foundation will guarantee that whatever you are building will crumble. This country was built on a Constitution. The Supreme Court are in charge with making sure that foundation remains sound. Why are people harassing the people that are trying to make sure the whole thing doesn’t come tumbling down. It’s like an architect asking me, a retired nobody with no experience on how to build anything, even my lego sets don’t survive, how to build a house. Makes no sense.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY

impulse

An impulse control disorder is a condition in which a person has trouble controlling emotions or behaviors. Often, the behaviors violate the rights of others or conflict with societal norms and the law.

Signs and symptoms of impulse control
  • Engaging in risky or promiscuous behaviors and/or activities. (so no making love with your significant other in a car? Just missionary style and close your eyes when you goddamn do it!!!)
  • Stealing from family members, friends, or stores.
  • Starting fires. (So buy an electric stove)
  • Lying. (They always pick on politicians)
  • Hair pulling. (ooof, I knew it was a bad idea when she told me to do it)
  • Explosive violent outbursts against others or property of others. (All lawyers and stop kicking doors down)
  • Extreme defiance. (MLK, Ghandi, BLM movement, the pilgrims, Boston tea party…. doesn’t seem right)
  • Running away for no apparent reason. (All marathons must be cancelled and jogging is illegal, just buy a treadmill))

If I had a way of controlling all those symptoms with something like a magical phone or some magical waves that can control emotions I would send it through people’s eyes and feet and thumbs and then I could screw with them and then I would be the man.

Funny how those symptoms fit. If I could control their eyes, then I would make them look down and to the right, or was it left, to make them look like their lying. That’s what the experts used to say now they say that it’s no longer relevant. Wonder why?

AnecDotA! (En Espanol)

fist fight

My girlfriend came over one day and saw me with a gash in my head and a black eye. She gasped and I told her you should see the other guy. She said does he look pretty bad. I just took a drink of wine, paused, gave this short laugh and then said, no, not even a scratch.

THOUGHT OF THE DAY!

God

In most references, God is thought of in the form of a man. If we think about it though, God created life and the only thing that can create life is a woman, ipso facto… therefore….  and because of that… it is likely that God could or would be a woman. Unless of course God is a seahorse, and that would be weird. If you think about it, there is empirical evidence within the bible itself, as only Mary was involved in Jesus’ birth, being immaculate and creating life by herself. I never seen a tissue or sock grow into a person. You kinda have to think about that one.

KNOW YOUR LAWS

special relationship theory

With all this talk about reopening schools, you should know who is responsible if anything happens to your child while (s)he is in your school.

Special relationship doctrine is a legal principle that makes the state liable for the harm inflicted on the individual by a third party provided that the state has assumed control over the individual which is sufficient to trigger an affirmative duty to provide protection to that individual.

This law/ruling provides determination who is responsible for your child when you drop him off at school. This law was actually handed down by the Federal Courts when a child was abused at a school and the State was held responsible for allowing just anyone in but it also applies to the pandemic.

WTF: KIDNAPPED KIDS

kidnap

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, roughly 800,000 children are reported missing each year in the United States — that’s roughly 2,000 per day. Of those, there are 115 child “stranger abduction” cases each year, which means the child was taken by an unknown person. (ABC News)

How can this be possible today with all of our technology unless our technology is the reason that makes it possible.

IMO: WTF: NO MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN THE SUBURBS

The latest political move to garner votes is that the President is rescinding an order from the Obama administration to place affordable housing in suburban neighborhoods. I think that people have a misconception of what is going on here. First it is my opinion that this is not a Black issue, because when you say that it is, you are saying that Black people are the only poor people, and that simply is not true and it’s somewhat demeaning. The other thing you are saying is that Black, Hispanic or Asian people that live in the suburbs wouldn’t mind having our homes devalued, that also is simply not true. Why won’t they put affordable housing in neighborhoods with million dollar mansions? Everyone is missing the point here. The reason people try to make it to the suburbs or Jeff Bezo’s type neighborhoods is because we love our children and want them to have a better education. If the schools in the urban neighborhoods were equal to the schools in the ritzy neighborhoods, then people wouldn’t move anywhere. Hell, why would I pay that crazy amount of taxes when I can pay lower taxes and get the same kind of education for myself or my kids. The fact is education should be equal but it isn’t. That’s what keeps crime going and what drives poverty. I don’t care about moving into your neighborhood, I care about giving my child the best shot at realizing his potential. If the politicians would stop arguing about who maintains control of the government and pay attention to the real problems, they would agree and do something about substandard education.

In all seriousness, I don’t know why affordable housing would devalue homes. I don’t understand the economics of it. The schools are still good, and that’s the main reason why people move into neighborhoods.

POLITICAL DONATIONS

political donations

Part of the problem with politics is special interest money, which in my opinion are not very special. There is nothing in the constitution that allows or forbids lobbying but there is something definitely wrong with the whole situation. If the Supreme court would rule that it is illegal to contribute to just one party, therefore making special interest illegal, and instead deemed that all political contributions go to all legitimate political parties, parties that can garner more that 10 million signatures country wide, by placing all political contributions in a pot and then spreading them equally, then the whole process would run a whole lot better. This would eliminate special interest and the only interest would be the people’s. But, let’s be real, you can’t stop the money train, which is the biggest problem with the system. The Repubs and the Demos already have that many registered voters, I don’t think any other party comes close to that many supporters.
